Nagarjuna Confirms Playing CBI Officer In Kuberaa Ahead Of Dhanush's Film Release: 'It Is A Character...'

The much-awaited Telugu movie Kuberaa starring Dhanush, Rashmika Mandanna and Nagarjuna in lead roles, is just a day away from its theatrical release. Directed by Sekhar Kammula, the movie will premiere on big screens on June 20. The crime drama weaves together the lives of a beggar and a CBI officer, bound by fate and a massive sum of money linked to a wealthy businessman. The cast's roles have created a buzz ever since the trailer release, especially that of Nagarjuna. To level up the hype ahead of the film's theatrical run, the actor opened up about his role, by revealing that he is playing a CBI officer in the film.

During Kuberaa promotions, Nagarjuna was asked about his character in the Dhanush starrer. During a media interaction, the actor said, “I play a middle-class person. I will be seen in the character of a CBI officer. My character finds itself in the midst of a conflict of whether to do good or bad."

Shedding more light on his character, he stated, "It is a character that has a good scope for a shuttle performance."

Nagarjuna shared his excitement about working with director Sekhar Kammula and revealed he always wanted to work with him. “I like his films a lot. His stories have a socially relevant point," he added.

Kuberaa will be released in multiple languages including Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam on June 20. Apart from Dhanush, Rashmika and Nagarjuna, actor Jim Sarbh also plays a pivotal role in the movie. Sekhar Kammula's direction is being backed by Suniel Narang and Puskur Rammohan Rao of Amigos Creations.
