Kuberaa is finally running in theatres now. The film stars Dhanush, Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna and others. Directed by Sekhar Kammula, Kuberaa received good response from the audience and critics alike upon its release. Recently, Nagarjuna talked about his character in the movie stating that the whole story revolves around him.
At the film's success event, Nagarjuna said, "Through this film, I am the main character in the film and everything else revolves around me. The screen space I got might be different, but that is not a criteria for me. This is Deepak's film, right from start to end and that is how Sekhar also told it when he narrated it to me. My arc is also likewise, which is why I liked it."
The Indian Telugu-language crime drama film Kuberaa was officially announced in June 2021 under the tentative title D51. This marks Dhanush's 51st movie of his career. The movie has been prouduced by Suniel Narang and Puskur Rammohan Rao of Amigos Creations. The film's title was initially planned to feature Dhanush and Sekhar, but with Nagarjuna's inclusion, it was changed to DNS, representing the three stars.
Production began in February 2024, with the official title announcement following in March. Filming took place in Hyderabad and Mumbai, wrapping up in April. The movie boasts an impressive technical team, including Devi Sri Prasad's music, Niketh Bommireddy's cinematography, Karthika Srinivas' editing, and Thota Tharani's production design.
Kuberaa has collected Rs 13 crore on its opening day. The film, starring Dhanush as a beggar, has received appreciation for its performances. Prime Video has acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights, with the OTT release date yet to be announced.
