Nana Patekar On Elder Son's Death
The late actor spoke to The Lallantop about his loss and his son's health issues back in 2024. "My eldest son was sick since birth. He had some health complications. He had trouble in one eye, it wasn't visible."
Nana said he was more worried about what people would say about his son's appearance than about how his son was coping.
Nana Patekar added, "I felt so disgusted that when I saw him, I thought about what people would think, what kind of son Nana has. I didn't think about what he felt or how he felt. I only thought about what people would think about my son."
He also explained his son's name. Durvasa was named after the 'angriest rishi'.
A heartbroken Nana ended the conversation on a quiet note. "His name was Durvasa. He spent two and a half years with us. But what can you do? Some things happen in life."

Nana Patekar Smoked 60 Cigarettes A Day
Nana Patekar married Neelakanti Patekar in 1978. The couple later separated but never divorced. She started her acting career as a child artist in 1966 and went on to win a National Award. After staying away from acting for several years, Neelakanti returned to films with Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna's Chhaava.
They had two sons, Malhar Patekar and Durvasa. Their elder son died after battling health complications.
Nana Patekar also said he smoked constantly after his son died, and it made people avoid him.

Nana Patekar died on Thursday, October 8, at the age of 75. He was found unconscious at his residence in Goa after a severe cardiac arrest. He was declared dead at around 5:20 AM.
Doctors at the hospital tried to revive him for about 45 minutes, but they could not.
Over the years, his work in Hindi and Marathi cinema let him move between commercial films and more performance-driven projects.
