Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is ready to make a grand comeback on the television sets. Ektaa Kapoor’s most popular TV serial is all set to premiere on July 29, 2025, on Star Plus at 10:30 pm. The iconic show was not just a medium of pastime for the public, but also catered to their emotional needs, making it a fan favourite. Now, the epic show is coming with a new season, and veteran actors Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay will reprise their roles of Tulsi Virani and Mihir Virani in the show.

Nivedita Basu, who is the creative director of the show, recently recalled some interesting anecdotes from earlier times. During a recent interview with India Today, Nivedita revealed how Mihir Virani’s death in the show left the viewers devastated. She expressed that television was the only medium, as there were no OTT platforms or social media at that time, so the world collectively watched TV.

She said, "I remember when Mihir died, Ekta had a brilliant strategy. Towards the end of the episode, she put Amar Upadhyay's birthdate and the date he died on the show. People were crying, howling, and thinking about what happened to Amar. I still keep mentioning it in every interview of mine. We had to call him back to the office to tell people that he was alive. Only the character is dead."

Nivedita Basu also shared that she and Ektaa Kapoor used to walk to Siddhivinayak, and people would fall onto Ekta's feet, even elders, making her embarrassed. The creative director recalled, “When we were climbing up to our homes, we could hear the title song being played, and you would know that the whole world was watching. So that time and era were very different. I mean, the whole litmus test was out there in the open."

Nivedita noted that the TRP was skyrocketing when Mihir returned to the show. Furthermore, she added, how the show had 32 actors and what a big task it was to get them together, as most of the time they were committed to other projects.
