Coolie is one of the most anticipated movies of the year. It has been a topic of discussion, thanks to its star-studded cast and powerful storyline. The film stars Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Aamir Khan and Shruti Haasan and is being directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. But did you know hthat the making of Coolie took two years of Lokesh's life? The director recently revealed that he focused solely on the film and stayed away from family and friends during this time. The movie is slated to hit cinemas on August 14 and expectations are already high as more updates continue to roll in

For Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie is not just a film but its more than that. His recent revelation is proof enough of his dedication towards his craft. The filmmaker, who believes in delivering a cinematic experience never seen before, has consumed the last two years of his life.

In a conversation with Filmyscoops, Lokesh opened up about the 2-year grind of working on Rajinikanth's Coolie. He said, “The last 2 years all I did was Coolie. No family, no friends, and nothing. My 36 and 37 years of life, all I did was Coolie."

Recently, the makers built more anticipation for the movie's release by dropping Aamir Khan's look from the movie. He will essay the role of Daaha in Rajinikanth's much-awaited film.

Not only that, the makers recently announced the Hindi title of the movie whuch was assumed to be Majdoor but it has been officially titled Coolie The Powerhouse.

Besides cast and title, Cooli has made history even before its release due to its overseas rights deal.

The makers of Kuberaa have secured the Telugu rights for Rajinikanth starrer, reportedly for Rs 46 crore, the biggest breaking record. Sunil Narang, along with producers Dil Raju, and Suresh Babu, are behind the acquisition. Earlier, it was reported that overseas rights for Coolie were sold for an impressive amount of Rs 84 crore.

Rajinikanth starrer Coolie will face a box office clash with War 2 starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, as both films are set to release on the same date August 14.
