Rajnikanth’s much-anticipated release of 2025, Tamil movie Coolie, is set to hit theatres on August 14. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the movie also stars Nagarjuna Akkineni and Upendra in key roles. The movie’s pre-release business has created a stir online with record-breaking numbers. According to reports after overseas rights, now the Telugu rights of the film have also been acquired at a whopping price. There was massive competition to bag these rights, with top Tollywood producers and even Akkineni Nagarjuna himself placing bids.

Kuberaa movie filmmaker, according to a report in India Glitz, has acquired the Telugu rights of Rajinikanth’s Coolie. The movie has generated massive excitement and was acquired for a record Rs 46 crore — the highest ever for a Tamil film dubbed in Telugu. Sunil Narang of Asian Cinemas, along with producers Dil Raju and Suresh Babu, has reportedly secured the Telugu rights of the Tamil movie, with Narang getting a major share of the investment. Although the Kuberaa team was not initially in contention, with the film’s massive success, they entered with a higher bid, ultimately securing the deal. According to an earlier report in OTT Play, the overseas rights have been sold for a record Rs 84 crore.

About Rajinikanth’s Coolie Movie

Marking Rajinikanth's 171st movie, Coolie’s production commenced in July last year and ended in mid-March this year, which included shoot at several places such as Chennai, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Jaipur and Bangkok. The Tamil movie also includes Monisha Blessy, Reba Monica John, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, and Shruti Haasan in supporting roles. Produced by Kalanithi Maran's Sun Pictures, the film will also feature Sitaare Zameen Par actor Aamir Khan’s brief appearance. The movie's dialogue and narrative were written by Lokesh and Chandhru Anbazhagan. The soundtrack was composed by Anirudh Ravichandar.

Coolie vs War 2

Meanwhile, set to release on 14th August this year, the Tamil film will clash with War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR. With immense buzz among Rajinikanth fans across both Tamil and Telugu audiences, it stands as one of the most anticipated releases of the year, keeping fans on the edge of their seats.
