For a while now, South Indian movies have captivated audiences, and this week is no exception. Get ready for highly anticipated moviess like Mohanlal's ‘Kannappa,’ Anupama Parameswaran's ‘Maargan,’ and Vikram Prabhu's ‘Love Marriage,’ among others.  

As we move into the next week, several South Indian films are set to release in theatres on 27 June 2025, offering audiences a wide variety of genres and stories. Here's a complete list of all the South Indian movies hitting theaters this week:

Kannappa

Kannappa is an upcoming mythological action drama directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh. The Telugu movie stars Vishnu Manchu in the lead role, supported by a star-studded cast including Prabhas, Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar, Kajal Aggarwal, Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, Arpit Ranka, Brahmanandam, and Brahmaji. The story is based on the legend of Kannappa, a hunter who starts as a non-believer but transforms into one of Lord Shiva’s most devoted followers. With its strong mythological roots and high-profile cameos, this film has generated huge excitement among fans.

Maargan

Maargan, directed by Leo John Paul, is a Tamil-language crime thriller featuring Vijay Antony in the lead role. The cast also includes Ajay Dhishan, P. Samuthirakani, Mahanadi Shankar, Prithika, Brigida Saga, and Vinod Sagar. The story revolves around a seasoned police officer who takes on a complex murder case. As he investigates, every new clue reveals darker and more twisted secrets, leading him to confront an unpredictable and dangerous antagonist. The Tamil movie promises to keep audiences hooked with its suspenseful plot and thrilling narrative.

Janaki v/s State of Kerala

Janaki v/s State of Kerala (JSK) is a Malayalam courtroom movie directed by Pravin Narayanan, with Union Minister and actor Suresh Gopi playing the lead role. The Malayalam movie also features Anupama Parameswaran, Madhav Suresh Gopi, Shruthi Ramachandran, and Divya Pillai. The story focuses on a woman who seeks justice after a traumatic experience. Although originally scheduled for release on 27 June 2025, the film is facing delays due to objections raised by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), and its final release date is yet to be confirmed.

Athani

Athani, directed by Samarth M, is a Kannada-language mystery thriller. The Kannada movie stars Samarth M, Madhu BC, Shobhraj, Bhavya, and Bala Rajwadi. Set in a village called Athani, the story follows a woman who becomes a reporter to investigate a series of mysterious murders. Tragically, she is killed during her quest. Years later, she is reborn and returns to the same village, where she reconnects with the people and sets out once again to uncover the truth behind the murders. The film combines elements of suspense, mystery, and reincarnation.

Love Marriage

Love Marriage, directed by Shanmuga Priyan, is a Tamil romantic family drama. The Tamil movie features Vikram Prabhu, Sushmitha Bhat, Meenakshi Dinesh, Sathyaraj, Ramesh Thilak, and Gajaraj S. The story centres on Ram, a 33-year-old bachelor from Madurai, who faces increasing pressure from society and his family to get married. The film follows his journey through a series of humorous and heartwarming situations as he navigates the challenges of finding love and happiness, making it a story about self-discovery and personal growth.

Good Day

Good Day, directed by Aravindhan, is a Tamil comedy movie that stars Prithiviraj Ramalingam, Kaali Venkat, Myna Nandhini, Bose Venkat, and Bagavathi Perumal. The plot follows a young man who, frustrated by his cruel manager, devises a plan to expose his boss’s harsh behaviour to the manager’s wife. What unfolds is a night filled with comedic twists and unexpected events as the man tries to carry out his revenge.

Thank You Dear

Thank You Dear is a Telugu-language romantic drama directed by Thota Srikanth Reddy. The telugu movie stars Dhanush Raghumudri, Hebah Patel, Rekha Nirosha, and Ravi Prakash. It tells the story of Satyam, an aspiring film director, and Priya, a real estate agent. As their relationship develops, an accident involving their neighbour’s infant child forces them to take on unexpected responsibilities, testing their bond and commitment in surprising ways.

Koodal

Koodal, directed by Shaanu Kakkoor, is a Malayalam mystery thriller movie starring Bibin George, Mareena Michael Kurisingal, Vineeth Thattil, Vijilesh Karayad, Niya Varghese, and Riya Isha. The film follows two girls who arrive at a Strangers Camp, where they unexpectedly encounter the person responsible for the murder of their former classmate. What begins as a simple retreat turns into a chilling experience filled with suspense and shocking twists as the mystery unfolds.
