Salman Khan-hosted Bigg Boss is one of the most-watched reality shows and has been the talk of the town since its premiere on August 24. The show is streaming on JioHotstar and also airs on Colors TV. In light of ongoing threats to Salman, the makers of Bigg Boss have implemented major security measures. Recently, Rishi Negi, CEO of Endemol Shine India, shared details about the protocols being followed on set now. From removing the live audience to enforcing strict background checks, the new season has introduced a new set of protocols, especially considering the actor has been receiving threats for the past two and a half years.
No Live Audience For Bigg Boss 19?
In an interview with SCREEN, the man behind Bigg Boss, Rishi Negi, shared insight into the world of the controversial show and its production strategies. He revealed that they have close to 600 people in the workforce, working in shifts. Rishi said, “We have close to 600 people in our workforce. There are 3 shifts, and we work 24X7. There is fair representation of women in the workforce. When it comes to content security and on-ground logistics, we are absolutely uncompromising both are top priorities."
On setting up enhanced security for Salman on the BB 19 sets, the Endemol Shine India CEO stated, “In the last two and a half years, we have beefed up security because of threats to Salman Khan. We don’t get live audiences on the show now when Salman Khan is there. Also, there is a very strict protocol about the people who come on the show. For everyone we hire, whether on a permanent basis, temporary, or vendor basis, we do a strict background check on them."
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has time and again issued threats to actor Salman Khan. In 2024, two men on a motorcycle fired shots outside Salman's Galaxy Apartments in Mumbai’s Bandra. Since then, he has high security with him and at his home too.
