Content creator Orhan Awatramani, popularly known as Orry, has strongly defended actor Janhvi Kapoor after YouTuber Dhruv Rathee’s recent video triggered widespread discussion online. The video, titled The FAKE Beauty of Bollywood Celebrities, alleged that several Bollywood actors, including Janhvi, had undergone cosmetic procedures. Orry reacted sharply to these claims and did not hold back while responding to Rathee’s comments.

On December 25, Dhruv Rathee uploaded a video on his YouTube channel in which he spoke about the use of plastic surgery, fillers, botox and skin-lightening treatments in the film industry. He named several well-known actors such as Janhvi Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Shruti Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Shilpa Shetty, Kajol and Priyanka Chopra. Notably, Janhvi Kapoor’s image was used as the thumbnail of the video, showing alleged ‘before-and-after’ pictures. The video quickly gained attention and sparked mixed reactions across social media platforms, with many users questioning the intent behind singling out actors’ appearances.

Orry came across an Instagram reel discussing Rathee’s video and decided to respond in the comments section. The reel pointed out that Dhruv’s video criticising Janhvi’s appearance was posted just hours after she had shared an Instagram Story condemning the “barbaric” lynching of Dipu Chandra Das in Bangladesh. Coming out firmly in support of Janhvi, Orry commented, “She probably doesn’t even know who he is.” He further accused Rathee of seeking attention and labelled him an “anti nationalist”. In another comment, Orry wrote, “I myself only know him as that anti nationalist who complains about not getting papped at train station despite having followers.” His remarks quickly went viral, with many social media users reacting strongly to his words.

Meanwhile, this controversy comes shortly after fans of Deepika Padukone also defended the actor when Dhruv Rathee claimed she had undergone skin-lightening treatment. Many users criticised Rathee for repeatedly targeting actors and focusing on their physical appearance rather than their work. The debate around beauty standards, cosmetic procedures and public scrutiny of celebrities has once again taken centre stage, with opinions sharply divided online.
