Pankaj Tripathi is one of the finest gems of Bollywood and has a long list of successful films like Gangs of Wasseypur, Fukrey, Bareilly Ki Barfi, OMG 2, Mimi and others. However, he disappeared for a long time in order to heal mentally and physically after losing his father, Pandit Banaras Tiwari, in 2023. In a recent interaction with The Hollywood Reporter, Pankaj Tripathi shared that he hadn’t signed a single film during this phase. “I took time off to work on myself and heal, physically and mentally. That’s why I’ve lost weight. I work out for three hours a day, six days a week. I also travelled - trips that I’d been putting off for a long time,” the actor said. He admitted that he told everyone that he had a busy schedule, but in reality, he needed time to rejuvenate and come back stronger from the loss.

Pankaj Tripathi also revealed that sometimes, he used to wait for shoots to wrap up as he found himself getting bored on the sets. This triggered a thought in him. He said, “I thought - this can’t be right. I love this profession so much. I’ve made so many sacrifices to get here, and if I’m spending my days just waiting for shoots to wrap, then something’s wrong. That’s why I took a break.”
