Kota Srinivasa Rao Death: The passing of veteran Telugu actor Kota Srinivasa Rao has left everyone saddened. The actor turned politician passed away in Hyderabad due to age-related illnesses on Sunday morning. He breathed his last at the age of 83 years at his home. Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the late Telugu actor and remembered his versatility and contribution to the Indian film industry. Following the news of his demise, SS Rajamouli, Chiranjeevi, Vishnu Manchu and others paid their homage.

Taking to X handle, PM Modi wrote, "Anguished by the passing of Shri Kota Srinivas Rao Garu. He will be remembered for his cinematic brilliance and versatility. He enthralled audiences across generations with his riveting performances. He was also at the forefront of social service and worked towards empowering the poor and downtrodden. Condolences to his family and countless admirers. Om Shanti."

Kota Srinivasa Rao Last Rites

The celebrities from the Telugu industry, including Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan, Prakash Raj, Venkatesh Daggubati, and Rana Daggubati, paid their last respect by attending the funeral for the veteran actor. Chiranjeevi, who debuted alongside Kota Srinivasa Rao in the film Pranam Khareedu, was seen breaking down at the ceremony.

Kota Srinivasa Rao Cause Of Death

The 83-year-old actor had reportedly been unwell due to age-related health issues and passed away on Sunday morning at his home in Hyderabad.

Kota Srinivasa Rao has captivated audiences since his debut in the Telugu film industry with Pranam Khareedu in 1978. He appeared in more than 750 films, not only in Telugu but also in Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam over the years. He was awarded the Padma Shri by the Indian government for his contribution to Indian cinema in 2015. Rao's last film appearance will be Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1 starring Pawan Kalyan, which is slated for July 24 release.
