Sunjay Kapur's Rs 30,000 crore inheritence battle has caught everyone's attention. Karisma Kapoor's children's lawyer Mahesh Jethmalani has labelled Priya Sachdev Kapur as "evil stepmother". "This is a Cinderella stepmother," said Jethmalani in court, noting that Priya wants to restrict the rightful share of Sunjay Kapur and Karisma Kapoor’s children. He even called Sunjay's widow a "greedy".

The lawyer went on to add, "Who is really greedy? She has already got 60% of the assets, around 12% to her own son, and 75% of the trust. She was in such a hurry, she even started writing letters about Benami forms, which are used to decide beneficiaries of companies." "It is not possible that Sunjay Kapur would not have consulted an advocate before creating a will and bequeathing such a large estate," Jethmalani told the court.

Questioning Jethmalani about the will, the court asked if it was typed. To this, he confirmed that it was already typed, but also pointed out "loopholes and infirmities" in it. "This is not a normal case. There’s no reason why the executor wasn’t informed or why a lawyer wasn’t consulted. A genuine will by a well-positioned man in society does not suffer from loopholes and infirmities," he argued in court.

Jethmalani claimed that the will was changed when the late Sunjay Kapur was on a holiday trip with his son. He even alleged that the person who changed the will became a director in one of the companies just a day after the funeral. "This is a case where the entire justice system is being taken for a joke," he said.
