Hera Pheri fans are excited after the news of Paresh Rawal returning to the popular franchise and reuniting with Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty. However, the news of his comeback left director Priyadarshan in shock. Recently, he broke his silence on the controversy that erupted after Rawal's sudden exit from Hera Pheri 3. The filmmaker also revealed that all the issues were resolved by Akshay, Suniel and Rawal, who cordially worked everything out.

Priyadarshan's Reaction To Paresh Rawal's Return

Priyadarshan shared his actual reaction after Paresh Rawal confirmed his return to Hera Pheri 3 to him. He also revealed that the actor gave him this news on June 30. In a conversation with Mid-Day, the filmmaker said, "Both Akshay and Paresh called to say that everything is sorted. I was in shock when Paresh said, ‘Sir, I’m doing the movie’. He added, ‘I have never had anything except a lot of respect for you. I’ve done 26 movies with you, and I’m sorry to have left the film. There were some personal issues.’ He said that Akshay, Suniel, and he met cordially and sorted it out."

Priyadarshan also refuted reports that suggest Sajid Nadiadwala and director Ahmed Khan had a role to play in sorting the matter. This comes after film producer Firoz Nadiadwala recently shared details about the Hera Pheri 3 controversy and how it all came to an end.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, he said, "With love, respect, and kind guidance of my brother Sajid Nadiadwala, and also Mr Ahmed Khan, the Hera Pheri family is back together. My brother, Sajid, put in a lot of personal time and efforts, over several days to resolve the matter. We have a bond of over 50 years. Ahmed too put in a lot of personal efforts. So it is with the love and guidance of Sajid and Ahmed, that everything is now productive and positive.”

In the same interview, Priyadarshan also shared that he will start penning down the script for the third instalment. He stated, "Whatever I do, I cannot surpass Hera Pheri [2000]. The second part [Phir Hera Pheri, 2006] was bad; it was a copy of a Hollywood movie."

The filmmaker added, “Hera Pheri cannot happen without any of the three lead characters. Recently, on a flight, a diamond merchant and his family came to me and requested me to bring Paresh back. They said they won’t watch the film otherwise.”

Paresh Rawal Confirms His Return To Hera Pheri 3

Recently, in an interview, Rawal revealed that he has decided to make his way back after seeing all the love the audiences have shown them. It's their responsibility towards the viewers to give them their best through hard work.

Earlier, it was reported that the movie is set to release in 2026. But as per the latest development, the production is set to wrap up in mid-2026 and is expected to arrive in 2027.
