Another Japanese allusion in the movie is Pushpa's entrance fight scene, which takes place in Japan and involves the actor speaking Japanese proficiently. The film carries on the compelling tale of a daily wage worker who confronts the perilous red sandalwood smuggling organization.
Pushpa 2 will have its theatrical debut in Japan under the title Pushpa Kunrin on January 16, 2026. Rashmika Mandanna plays Srivalli, while Fahadh Faasil plays the role of antagonist. In the blockbuster sequel, Pushparaj's journey—which had previously been about survival—became more about control, leaving a legacy, and achieving success.

Under the title Pushpa Kunrin, distributors Geek Pictures and Shochiku have teamed up with Sukumar Writings and Mythri Movie Makers to bring the Pushpa lunacy to Japanese screens. The movie is scheduled to open in around 250 theaters. The producers are optimistic about the movie's success in Japan since Japanese viewers have demonstrated a deep affection for the biggest blockbusters in Indian cinema.

The plot of Pushpa: The Rise is continued in Pushpa 2: The Rule, which depicts Pushpa Raj's transformation from a daily wage worker to the current leader of the red sandal smuggling syndicate. Rashmika portrays Srivalli, his wife, who defends him from his estranged relatives. In Pushpa: The Rise, Fahadh portrays police officer Bhanwar Singh Shekawat, who is still in shock at the humiliation he endured. A new plot for Pushpa 3: The Rampage is introduced at the end of the movie.
Pushpa 2 made over Rs 1831 crore worldwide when it debuted in theaters on December 5. Devi Sri Prasad wrote the soundtrack for the Sukumar-directed movie. Y. Ravi Shankar and Naveen Yerneni are the film's producers
