R B Chaudary Death News Update: The South Indian film industry is in mourning following the sudden and tragic death of veteran producer RB Choudary. The founder of the famous Super Good Films passed away in a car crash near Udaipur, Rajasthan, on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. He was 79 years old.
Veteran Producer RB Choudary Dies In Tragic Car Accident
RB Choudary had travelled to his home state of Rajasthan to attend a family wedding. According to reports, the car he was travelling in lost control and hit a road barricade, causing severe injuries. He was rushed to the hospital but was sadly declared dead on the way. His sons, popular actors Jiiva and Jithan Ramesh, along with the rest of the film community, have been left in deep shock by the news.
RB Choudary was a giant in the film world. Over a career spanning more than forty years, he produced hit after hit. He was particularly famous for making "family-oriented" films that people of all ages loved.
He played a massive role in the career of Thalapathy Vijay. Films like Poove Unakkaga and Thirupaachi, which Choudary produced, helped turn Vijay into the massive superstar he is today. He also worked with other big names like Rajinikanth, Sarathkumar, and Venkatesh.
Beyond just working with stars, he was known for giving chances to new talent. He introduced over 30 new directors to the industry, many of whom became very successful. Director Vikraman, who debuted under him, shared a moving tribute saying, "If I am eating in comfort today, it is because of his charity."

Meanwhile, superstar Rajinikanth described him as a wonderful human being, stating, “My dear friend, Super Good Films RB Choudhary is a top-notch producer. A wonderful human being. He has given opportunities to countless young directors and kept the film world alive."
Director N Lingusamy also shared his grief, saying, “It all started with you, sir. I still remember every single word you told me after my first narration, the tears in your eyes meant everything to me."
RB Choudary was reportedly working towards his 100th film project before his untimely death. His legacy will be carried forward by his sons and the many filmmakers he helped mentor.
