Ramayana, the mythological drama directed by Nitesh Tiwari, is all set to reconnect the audience with their cultures and Indian roots in November 2026. The movie has a phenomenal star cast, including renowned celebrities like Sai Pallavi, who will be seen as Sita, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Rakul Preet Singh as Srupanakha and Kajal Aggarwal as Mandodri. Adding to the ensemble star cast is actor Ranbir Kapoor, who will portray the divine character of Lord Ram. The actor will be stepping into the world of a mythological drama for the second time, after leaving an impact in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra. But before him, several other talented actors have also brought life to the inspirational character of Ram onscreen.
ARUN GOVIL
Actor Arun Govil essayed the role of Ram in the epic TV show Ramayan, directed by Ramanand Sagar in 1987. The show was a major hit and is still cherished by the audience. This show defined Arun Govil’s career and completely shaped his path in a new direction.

PRABHAS
South star Prabhas played the role of Ram in Om Raut’s Adipurush. He was starred opposite Kriti Sanon, who essayed the character of Sita. Saif Ali Khan was seen as the evil Ravana in the movie. Though the film didn’t receive a good response from the audience, Prabhas managed to gather appreciation for taking up such a challenging role.
JEETENDRA
The movie Lav Kush was released in 1997, and the veteran actor Jeetendra played Lord Ram onscreen. The movie was directed by V. Madhusudhan Rao and had stars like Jaya Prada, Pran, Dara Singh, Beena Banerjee and others in pivotal roles. Interestingly, Arun Govil, who starred in the TV drama Ramayan in 1987, played the role of Lakshman in this 1997 release.

RRR star Jr NTR made his acting debut at a very young age as a child artist. The actor delivered the role of Lord Ram in the movie Ramayanam and was applauded for his effortless and brilliant acting skills. He even won an award for the same. The movie depicted the early years of Lord Ram.
GURMEET CHOUDHARY
Popular TV actor Gurmeet Choudhary became a household name after playing the role of Ram in the Hindi show Ramayan, which aired from 2008 to 2009. His wife, Debina Bonnerjee, essayed the role of Sita in the show. The duo was admired by the audience, making the show a super hit.

Meanwhile, in the first teaser of Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana, the maker gave a tease of Ranbir Kapoor’s look as Lord Ram, which received a good response from the audience. The movie is slated for next year’s release, building excitement among netizens.
