Ramayana Update: Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana is going to be one of the most highly anticipated releases, featuring an impressive cast, including Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Raavan, and Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman. The movie has been generating a lot of buzz, and the latest addition to the cast is reportedly Kajal Aggarwal, who will play the role of Mandodari, Raavan's wife.

Kajal Aggarwal, owing to her strong fan base and popularity across both northern and southern markets, has been reportedly finalised for the role of Mandodari. According to a report in India Today, "The makers sought an actress with a strong presence across languages. While many actresses were considered, including those from Bollywood, Kajal Aggarwal's celebrated name in both the North and the South made her the ideal choice."

Meanwhile, Yash, who plays the role of Raavan, joined the sets of Ramayana on April 30, 2025, and shot his first scene as the legendary villain. The report further shared that principal photography for Ramayana: Part One is likely to be wrapped up in the next two weeks.

On the other hand, the movie is expected to be a visually stunning retelling of the great Ramayana, with Oscar-winning visual effects company DNEG at the helm of the visual effects. The movie Ramayana will be released in two parts, with the first part releasing in theaters on Diwali 2026, and the second part releasing on Diwali 2027. The producers reportedly plan to complete the filming of both parts of Ramayana by the end of the year, following which they will transition to an intensive post-production process.
