Salakaar Teaser OUT: JioHotstar is all set to release a patriotic new series titled Salakaar, which brings to life the thrilling story of an Indian spy. The web series stars Aspirants actor Naveen Kasturia in the lead, alongside Mouni Roy and Mukesh Rishi. Salakaar is based on real-life incidents and will begin streaming on 8th August. The makers recently shared an intense teaser, giving fans a glimpse into a world of espionage, national security, and untold heroism.

Salakaar web series  tells the compelling story of a legendary Indian spy master who, using his intelligence and courage, prevents enemy forces from succeeding in their dangerous mission. Hotstar took to Instgaram to share that teaser with the caption, “The world knows him by many names. We know him by just one, Salakaar Hotstar Specials: Salakaar, Streaming from 1̶5̶t̶h̶ A̶u̶g̶u̶s̶t̶ 8th August only on JioHotstar.” The web series was initially slated to release on Independence day but the date has now shifted to 8th August, generating buzz among fans.

Salakaar Web Series Details

The plot follows a timeline set between 1978 and 2025, showing how a covert mission aimed at dismantling Pakistan’s secret nuclear facility unfolds. The teaser hints at Pakistan’s former General Zia-ul-Haq working to build the country’s first nuclear bomb, setting the tone for a political thriller packed with suspense, action, and emotional depth. Meanhwile, the main character in Salakaar is reportedly inspired by Ajit Doval, India’s current National Security Advisor and a former IPS officer known for his secret missions and contributions to national defence. Naveen Kasturia plays the role of this undercover operative who quietly lives in Pakistan while risking everything for India. 

On the other hand, Naveen Kasturia shared that Salakaar was one of the most challenging roles he has ever taken up. “It was a unique experience to play a man who lives under constant danger, always calculating every move. One mistake could mean death,” he said. The actor also revealed that the series marks his first time performing action scenes. “Faruk Kabir’s vision helped me push boundaries and brought out a version of me I didn’t know existed,” he added.

Furthermore, Naagin actress Mouni Roy also spoke about her experience working on Salakaar, calling it a transformative journey. “This project allowed me to explore a world I had never entered before. The script’s blend of political intrigue and emotional moments demanded that I give it everything,” she said. Mouni praised the team’s collaborative effort and promised viewers would see a side of her they hadn’t seen before. Additionally actor Mukesh Rishi portrays General Zia, a Pakistani military leaderin the web series. With its patriotic theme, gripping plot, and strong cast, the Salakaar is expected to strike a chord with audiences ahead of Independence Day.
