Salman Khan's Dabangg (2010) director Abhinav Kashyap has criticized the actor, labeling him a 'gunda' and his family 'vindictive.' He isn't 'interested in acting,' the director continued, adding that 'he hasn't been since the last 25 years.' Khan and his family had a tense relationship with the filmmaker. Following the film's premiere, Abhinav Kashyap's refusal to helm Dabangg 2 starined relations, and he later accused the Khans of ruining his career. Now that Dabangg is 15 years old, the director speaks up about Salman Khan's behaviour on the set.

Salman Khan is a 'gunda' claimed Abhinav Kashyap in an interview with the SCREEN. He went ahead and said that the actor 'does a favour' by showing up for work, despite not being 'interested in acting, and hasn't been for the last 25 years.'

Abhinav Kashyap described Salman Khan as ill-mannered and challenging to work with, adding that he was unaware of this aspect of him before to Dabangg. "Salman is never involved. He is not even interested in acting, and he hasn’t been for the last 25 years. He does a favour by turning up to work. He is more into the power of being a celebrity, but he is not interested in acting. He is a gunda (goon). I was not aware of this before Dabangg. Salman badtameez hai, ganda insaan hai," he said.

The director further asserted that the Khan family as a whole is vengeful and focused on industry dominance. Salman, he claimed, is 'the father of the star system' in Bollywood, coming from a family that has been in movies for more than 50 years. They make things hard if you don't comply with them claimed Kashyap.

"Salman Khan is the father of the star system in Bollywood. He is from a film family which has been in the industry for 50 years. He continues the process. They are vindictive people. They control the whole process. If you don’t agree with them, they come after you," he shared.

Abhinav disclosed that when working on Tere Naam, his brother Anurag Kashyap encountered a similar difficulty. Prior to Dabangg, Anurag had cautioned him that working with Salman would not be simple. He continued that despite having created the script, Anurag ultimately left Tere Naam. He remembered how his brother was abused by Boney Kapoor and not given the credit he deserved.
