Salman Khan And Kareena Kapoor May Team Up For New Superhero Movie
Bollywood fans are buzzing with excitement as reports suggest that Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan might reunite on the big screen. The duo is reportedly in talks to star in a new superhero film directed by the famous pair Raj & DK. This project is particularly special because it will be the first time Salman Khan plays a superhero in his long career.
Kareena Kapoor has worked with Salman Khan in several hit films before, such as Bodyguard and Bajrangi Bhaijaan. If she joins this new project, it will be their fifth time working together. According to reports, Kareena Kapoor is in advanced talks with the directors. While she hasn't officially signed the contract yet, she has shown a lot of interest in the role.
It is believed that Salman Khan took a personal interest in the casting. Reports say that "Salman Khan personally contacted Kareena to accelerate casting discussions," which helped make her the frontrunner for the role over other actresses like Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Fans have been waiting for this reunion since 2015, as the two actors have great on-screen chemistry.
Meanwhile, the untitled superhero film is being backed by Mythri Movie Makers. The story reportedly follows an ageing hero who is pulled back into action to save the day. Filming is expected to start around October or November 2026, with the makers aiming for a big release during Eid 2027.
Furthermore reports also suggest that the digital visual effects and computer animation company Weta FX is in talks to handle the VFX for the film. Reports stated, "The renowned VFX company Weta FX is reportedly in discussions to take charge of the visual effects for Raj & DK’s upcoming superhero film starring Salman Khan. The studio is known for delivering top-tier work on global projects like The Avengers, The Batman, The Last of Us, and Moon Knight, hinting at a massive visual scale for this film."
Salman Khan's Upcoming Projects
On the work front, Salman Khan has other major projects lined up. He is currently working on an action drama with director Vamshi Paidipally. This project, known as #SVC63, started filming in April 2026. Bhaijaan is also waiting for the release of his war drama, Maatrubhumi, where he plays an Army Colonel.
Additionally, Kareena Kapoor is also busy with her own projects, including a crime thriller titled Daayra.
