Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan recently won the Best Actor award at the 71st National Film Awards for his performance in Jawan. While fans and celebrities rushed to congratulate him, one particular message stood out which was from politician and wordsmith Shashi Tharoor.  Along with his funny replies, Shah Rukh released a video message thanking his fans and team for the continuous love and support throughout his career. His kind words were appreciated across social media.

Shashi Tharoor took to X (formerly Twitter) to write, “A National Treasure wins a National Award! Congratulations @iamsrk!” Shah Rukh, known for his sharp wit, replied: “Thank u for the simple praise Mr Tharoor. Would not have understood something more magniloquent and sesquipedalian ha ha,” leaving netizens in splits. For those wondering, ‘magniloquent’ means using grand language, while ‘sesquipedalian’ refers to long, complicated words.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh didn’t stop there. He personally replied to most well-wishers with his usual warmth and humour. Director Atlee, who helmed Jawan, had written a heartfelt message calling the film his "first love letter to SRK." To this, Khan responded, “MAAASSS MAAASSS MAASSS. Thank you for your vision. Only you could do this... In the next song, we will do more steps. Love u.” The Jawan actor also responded cheekily to his wife Gauri Khan, who had shared a celebratory post featuring SRK, Rani Mukerji, and Karan Johar. Shah Rukh wrote, “Please brag about me to me when we sit for dinner tonight... thanks for producing the film.”

Shah Rukh Khan’s Work Front

Shah Rukh Khan is currently recovering from a hand injury sustained while shooting for his next film, King. The upcoming action drama features Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Deepika Padukone. Despite the injury, he’s expected to resume filming soon.The film has already generated a buzz, especially with the father-daughter duo of SRK and Suhana sharing screen space for the first time.
