Shilpa Shinde Controversy: Television actress Shilpa Shinde has found herself at the centre of a major controversy after admitting that she previously made false sexual harassment allegations against a television producer. Despite facing immense backlash online, the actress appeared completely unfazed and shared a cryptic reel on her Instagram account on Saturday, June 6, 2026. Sharing a collection of her photographs, she wrote, "Be a woman, always ready to say jo ukhadna hai ukhad lo." In the caption, she added, "Jalne walo jalte raho apna khoon Kisi jarurat mand ko mat do jala Jala Ke khatam kar do."
Although she did not name anyone directly, the timing of her post seems to be a direct reply to the heavy criticism she is receiving from social media users. The backlash intensified after the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) issued a statement condemning her actions. The association has urged Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to look into the matter and take strict legal action against the actress.

The Background Of Shilpa Shinde And Sanjay Kohli Dispute
The entire dispute dates back to 2016, when Shilpa Shinde abruptly quit the popular comedy show Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain. At the time, the producers called her unprofessional, while she claimed she was experiencing a hostile work environment and facing non-payment of her dues. In 2017, she accused the show's co-producer, Sanjay Kohli, of sexual harassment. The case eventually ended in a legal settlement.

However, during a recent appearance on a podcast hosted by Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa, Shilpa admitted that the sexual harassment claims were completely false. She explained that she felt "cornered" at the time and used the serious allegations as a last resort to get her pending money, which she eventually received through the settlement.

The AICWA expressed deep concern over the confession, stating that false accusations cause permanent damage to a person's reputation and family. They also noted that such actions make it much harder for genuine victims of harassment within the Bollywood and television industry to be believed.

The confession has also triggered a bitter feud between Shilpa and fellow actress Hina Khan. Hina criticized the move online, saying she was 'in disbelief' that anyone could support such an "absurd and lowly action." Shilpa quickly retaliated by releasing a video making indirect comments about Hina's personal life and health, further fueling the ongoing drama.
