Shreya Ghoshal is undoubtedly the biggest star singer in the country, who received love from the audience for her music. It was quite evident when a stampede-like situation occurred in her recent Cuttack concert. As reported by PTI, a brief commotion broke out at her show, held at the Bali Jatra ground in Cuttack. The situation turned chaotic when a large crowd surged towards the stage as Shreya Ghoshal appeared. It prompted organisers to halt the performance temporarily. The show resumed after the police brought the situation under control.
As per officials, two people fainted- one of them was a woman. They were immediately attended to by medical personnel. They were first treated at an on-site first aid centre and later shifted to a local hospital for observation.
Thousands of people gathered to watch Shreya Ghoshal’s performance on the final day of Bali Jatra festival. However, Cuttack Police Commissioner S Dev Datta Singh dismissed the reports of any major unrest. He said, “There was no unpleasant situation. It is true that there was a huge crowd, but we managed it properly. One person sustained a minor injury and is stable.” Senior officials and Singh were monitoring the situation from the control room.
After the escalating situation, the administration has appealed to attendees to maintain calm, refrain from pushing and shoving, and adhere to safety guidelines at such large events to avoid any accidents.
On the same day, Shreya Ghoshal also shared a tweet, where she shared that she was on her way to Cuttack, “On my way to Cuttack for a show today but also excited about what’s coming in two days. Let’s kill some time until soundcheck. AMA? #AskShreya.”
