RS Prasanna made a strong comeback after a big break from the big screen. His last release, Shubh Mangal Savdhaan, starred Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar, came out in 2017. The filmmaker returned to narrate the tale of an arrogant basketball coach who is training a group of children with special needs. Aamir Khan led Sitaare Zameen Par starred Genelia D'Souza and eleven up-and-coming actors.
RS Prasanna's Sitaare Zameen Par had a good opening at the box office. While the movie continues to make money at ticket windows, The Daily Jagran spoke to the director about his method of working with 'perfectionist' Aamir Khan. He also disclosed whether they opted for a collaborative method or set clear boundaries from the start.

RS Prasanna clarified that Aamir Khan is 'one of the most collaborative and he's a wonderful team player.' He recalled the 'anxious moments' before he met the 'superstar' and said, "In fact, I had very, very anxious moments before I met him, because this is the first time I would ever be working with a superstar, a person whom I myself adore and respect and admire, so I was very, very anxious."
RS Prasanna added, "And in fact, meeting him made me more and more comfortable. So I think that that really speaks a lot about how our next five years after that, you know, how our journey has been. I think there's a lot of fondness in my heart for him and which is very natural because I've grown up, you know, from college watching Lagaan and all that."

RS Prasanna told us and we bet you didn't know this that he is quite protective of his directors. "There's one quality of Aamir that's not often talked about, which is he's actually quite protective of his directors. He's one person who is so protective of his directors and also so empowering of his directors," he shared.
RS Prasanna recounted his conversation about Aamir Khan with the Dangal director, Nitesh Tiwari. The director, who was was filming for Shubhmangal Savdhaan at the time, also heaped praises on the filmmaker. He quoted Nitesh Tiwari and stated, "He said that, you know, Prasana, Amir Khan is addictive. Like once you work with him, you will want to keep on pitching stories to him again and again. So I think Amir Sir is addictive and he's a director's delight."
He concluded saying that Aamir Khan is a director's delight!
