Su From So actor and producer Raj B Shetty recently reacted to the ‘Shetty Mafia’ tag. He has often been labelled with the tag along with stars Rishab Shetty and Rakshit Shetty. They are also called ‘RRR’ in Kannada cinema. Raj B Shetty recently gave a strong response to those who called the trio ‘Shettly Mafia’ and asked the people to form their own gang. He also emphasised the value of collaboration in the industry and stressed the fact that if someone wants glory for only himself, then it is not his problem.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Raj said, “In Karnataka, sometimes people call us the ‘Shetty mafia’ or the ‘Shetty gang’. All I have to tell them is — please, form your own gang, brother.”
He continued, “If you are roaming around all alone and want all the name and glory for yourself, and are not ready to collaborate, then that’s not our problem, brother.”
The filmmaker also spoke about his equation with Rishab and Rakshit Shetty. He said, “I thought I was a filmmaker who didn’t know film. Rishab and Rakshit were already in Bangalore and had been part of the industry for years.” He further mentioned that there is no ego between them.
Shetty added, “There is no competition between the three of us. Even today, after Su From So, Rakshit messaged me saying, ‘I’m hearing great things. Congratulations.’ I think very few relationships in this industry are non-corrupted, and with these people, there’s no competition among us. Nobody’s trying to be first.”
Raj B Shetty is known for his work in movies like Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana, Toby, Ondu Motteya Kathe, 777 Charlie and Turbo, to name a few.
Raj B Shetty’s movie, Su From So, recently hit Rs 42.02 crore in India. Apart from Shetty, the film also features JP Thuminad, Shaneel Gautham, Prakash Thuminad and Deepak Rai Panaje in pivotal roles. It has been directed by JP Thuminad. Shetty has backed the film along with Shashidhar Shetty Baroda, Ravi Rai Kalasa.
