The film is about a retired gangster who returns to his violent ways after his son is wrongfully convicted. It emerged as the highest grossing Tamil film of 2025.

Retro

Starring Suriya and Pooja Hegde, Retro is a 2025 Indian Tamil romantic action movie which has been written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj. The movie revolves around Paarivel “Paari” Kannan, an orphan raised by a gangster, who faces betrayal and a violent cult as he searches for his true origins.

According to Asianet Tamil News, Retro is expected to begin streaming on Netflix starting June 5.

Dragon

Dragon hit the theaters on February 21, 2025 and received positive reviews from fans and critics alike. The movie stars Pradeep in the titular role, Anupama Parameswaran, Kayadu Lohar, Mysskin, Gautham Vasudev Menon, K. S. Ravikumar and George Maryan. Dragon grossed approximately Rs152 crore (US$18 million), emerging as the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2025 by the end of its theatrical run.

The 2025 Indian Tamil comedy drama movie Tourist Family has been written and directed by Abishan Jeevinth, in his directorial debut. The movie is set against the backdrop of economic challenges in Sri Lanka. It follows the story of a Sri Lankan Tamil family who is in search of safety and a better future. Tourist Family received critical acclaim for Abishan's direction and Roldan's score. It stars M. Sasikumar, Simran, Mithun Jai Sankar and Kamalesh in the lead roles, while Yogi Babu, M. S. Bhaskar, Ramesh Thilak, Bagavathi Perumal, Elango Kumaravel and Sreeja Ravi star in pivotal roles.
