Tanvi The Great: Veteran actor Anupam Kher is making a return to direction with his upcoming movie Tanvi The Great. The film introduces Shubhangi Dutt in the lead role and is described as a heartfelt slice-of-life drama. Not only does Anupam Kher direct the film, but he also shares the screen with the debutante. Tanvi The Great has already made its mark at several international film festivals. It is now set for a very special screening at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre (RBCC) where India’s Honourable President, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, will watch the movie ahead of its theatrical release.
Speaking about the honour, Anupam Kher said, “I am deeply honoured to present our film, Tanvi The Great, to our Honourable President, Smt. Droupadi Murmu. The story touches upon two deeply important themes — autism and the Indian Army. Who better to watch this film first than the supreme commander of our armed forces? President Murmu is a symbol of strength, dignity, and progressive leadership. We are all very excited and humbled by the opportunity to share this film with her.”
Earlier this week, the movie was screened at the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Khadakwasla, and it received a standing ovation from the young cadets. Anupam Kher shared an emotional post and video on Instagram, and wrote “STANDING OVATION FOR TANVI THE GREAT AT THE NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY. In my 40 years as an actor, this was one of the most emotional moments of my life! The film was screened at NDA — a place where future officers of the Armed Forces are trained. When Vice Admiral Gurcharan Singh gave the cadets permission to react freely at the end of the film, the entire Habibullah Auditorium erupted in applause. It felt like it went on forever — I had tears of joy and gratitude.”

About Tanvi The Great Movie
Tanvi The Great boasts a star-studded cast, including Jackie Shroff, Arvind Swami, Boman Irani, Pallavi Joshi, Karan Tacker, Nasser, and Iain Glen alongside Anupam Kher and Shubhangi Dutt. The movie’s technical crew features two Oscar-winning artists, music composer M.M. Keeravani and sound designer Resul Pookutty. The cinematography is by Keiko Nakahara from Japan.
Meanwhile, the film is produced by Anupam Kher Studios in association with the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC). Global distribution is being handled by Excel Entertainment, led by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, along with AA Films, headed by Anil Thadani. Tanvi The Great will be released in cinemas across the world on 18th July.
