The Ba***ds Of Bollywood dropped on Netflix on 18th September 2025. It’s a satirical action‐comedy series created, directed and co-written by Aryan Khan, produced by Red Chillies Entertainment (Shah Rukh Khan & Gauri Khan). It’s his first time behind the camera on a full series, and expectations were high both because of his lineage and the bold teasers that promised insider takes on Bollywood.

The plot follows Aasmaan Singh (played by Lakshya Lalwani), an outsider actor who wins big with his debut film produced by a major producer Freddy (Manish Chaudhari). Soon after, he lands an offer from a superstar director (Karan Johar in the show) to star in his next film alongside Karishma Talvar (Sahher Bambba) who is from a film family. But there’s a catch: Aasmaan has signed an exclusive three‐film deal with Freddy, which stops him from taking that offer. What follows is a ride through Bollywood’s glamorous world, with betrayals, power plays, privilege vs struggle, and repeated digs at nepotism. The web series has seven episodes, and in them, fans noticed several moments that seem to echo real life including a satirical scene with a Sameer Wankhede lookalike (a former NCB officer) which many believe refers to Aryan’s own past legal controversy.

Who’s In The Ba***ds Of Bollywood?

The cast includes Lakshya Lalwani as Aasmaan Singh, Sahher Bambba as Karishma Talvar, Bobby Deol as Ajay Talvar (Karishma’s father), Raghav Juyal as Parvaiz, Aasmaan’s friend, Anya Singh, Mona Singh, Manoj Pahwa, Gautami Kapoor, Rajat Bedi and more. Meanwhile, cameos are plentiful and a big part of the attention: Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Emraan Hashmi (as an intimacy coach), Karan Johar, Ranveer Singh and others appear. Many fans say the cameos add extra sparkle, especially Emraan Hashmi’s entry which is called one of the series’ best scenes.

Verdict: Does It Deliver?

On balance, yes, The Ba***ds Of Bollywood largely lives up to its hype especially for viewers who enjoy Bollywood satire with bold commentary. The mix of a relatable outsider protagonist, sharp jabs at nepotism, strong cast, and eye-catching cameos adds a lot of value. The Sameer Wankhede reference indicates a willingness to address uncomfortable truths, which many find refreshing. However, some viewers might find certain plot twists predictable or feel it leans heavily on real-life whispers. If subsequent episodes deepen characters and keep up the sharp satire, this could mark Aryan’s strong start as a creator. It’s not flawless, but for many, it’s already worth the watch.
