Veteran actress Archana Puran Singh, who debuted at the age of 20 in film Nikaah, is now a household name primarily for her iconic laugh. While The Kapil Sharma Show brought her immense fame among younger generations, it has simultaneously created a professional gilded cage. Today, at 63, the veteran actress reveals how being a permanent guest on a comedy show led filmmakers to forget her acting prowess.

Archana’s transition from a versatile actress to a reality show judge came at a heavy price. During the peak of the show’s popularity, the team recorded nearly 100 episodes a year. This grueling schedule left her with no room for external projects. Archana shared her regret in a recent interview, noting that her identity has become so synonymous with her seat on the show that the industry has stopped seeing her as a performer.
