Varun Tej and Lavanya Tripathi, who tied the knot in November 2023, welcomed their first child, a baby boy, on September 10, 2025, in Hyderabad. The romance between the two bloomed after they met on the sets of Mister in 2017, eventually turning their friendship into a 6-year-long courtship period. A few weeks later, the couple introduced their son to the world by revealing his name, Vaayuv Tej Konidela. The popular Telugu film industry couple also shared glimpses of their baby boy from the naming ceremony, which was attended by close family and friends. Varun and Lavanya revealed the meaning behind the son's name.

Talking to Instagram, Varun Tej announced his baby boy's name with a heartwarming video and photos on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra. The photos feature Lavanya and Varun adoring baby Vaayuv. The actress was seen dressed in an orange saree, while Varun wore an ivory-coloured kurta set for the occasion.

The video showed the text, which read, "We introduce our beloved son, Vaayuv Tej Konidela-a name that embodies unstoppable force, devotion, courage, and spiritual radiance. Carrying the spirit of Lord Hanuman."

Sharing the post, Varun Tej wrote, "Our greatest blessing now has a name."

Soon after the post was uploaded, the comments section was flooded with love and warm wishes. One user wrote, "What a beautiful name. God bless the three of you." Another comment read, "What a name."

The baby’s arrival was first announced by Varun and Lavanya on Instagram with a joyful black-and-white photo of the couple with their newborn as they shared the news with fans. The post was captioned, "Our little man. 10.09.2025."

Varun Tej has carved a niche for himself in the film industry despite coming from the Konidela family. He is the son of actor-producer Nagendra Babu and nephew of Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan. His cousins include Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, Allu Sirish, Sai Dharam Tej and Panja Vaisshnav Tej.
