Dheeraj Kumar Death: Veteran actor and producer Dheeraj Kumar has passed away at the age of 79 due to complications from pneumonia. He was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai, where he was in critical condition and on ventilator support before his demise. Kumar's family and production team had earlier issued a statement requesting prayers for his speedy recovery, expressing gratitude for the support and respectfully asking for privacy during this difficult time.

His family said in a statement, "With heartfelt sorrow, we announce the passing of veteran actor, producer and Director and beloved human being Dheeraj Kumar on Tuesday, 15th July 2025, around 12 noon, surrounded by family... He was always laughing, always giving, and always present to his family, friends, and the industry at large."

"A true gentleman, he was a father figure, friend, and guide to many. He will be remembered not just as an actor, but as a mentor, a gentle soul, and a true gentleman. We thank everyone for their prayers and support during this time," the statement further read.

With a career spanning decades, Dheeraj Kumar left an indelible mark on Indian cinema and television. He was known for his work in films like Roti Kapada Aur Makaan, Swami, Kranti and Heera Panna and had also acted in 21 Punjabi films between 1970 and 1984. As the founder of Creative Eye Limited, Kumar produced several popular TV shows, including Om Namah Shivay, Shree Ganesh, Jai Santoshi Maa and Jap Tap Vrat, which showcased his storytelling prowess and ability to connect with audiences across India.
