Madhumati Death: Veteran Indian actress and renowned dancer Madhumati passed away on October 15, 2025, at the age of 87. Celebrated for her remarkable contributions to Indian cinema, she was often regarded alongside iconic performers of the golden era like Helen. Her death has left the film industry deeply saddened. Following the news of her demise, many celebrities and film personalities expressed their condolences. Among those who paid tribute were Akshay Kumar, and Vindu Dara Singh.

Akshay Kumar also paid his respects by sharing a throwback picture with Madhumati, calling her his “first guru.” He wrote, “My first and forever guru. Everything I know about dance, I learnt at your feet, Madhumati ji. Har ada, har expression mein aapki yaad hamesha saath rahegi. Om Shanti.”

Actor Vindu Dara Singh shared a heartfelt tribute on X (formerly Twitter), posting a photo of Madhumati and writing, “Rest in peace our teacher and guide #Madhumati ji. A beautiful life led, filled with love and blessings from so many of us who learnt dancing from this legend.”

About Madhumati 

Born in Maharashtra in 1938, Madhumati began her career as a dancer in 1957 with an unreleased Marathi film. She went on to appear in several popular movies, including Ankhen, Shikari, Mujhe Jeene Do, and Tower House. Trained in Bharatnatyam, Kathak, Manipuri, and Kathakali, she was known for her graceful dance style and expressive performances. At the age of 19, Madhumati married Deepak Manohar, a respected dancer of that time. He was a widower with four children. Though initially reluctant to marry him, Madhumati eventually agreed due to her mother’s wishes. The couple shared a deep love for dance and performance throughout their lives.

Madhumati’s passing marks the end of an era for classic Indian dance in cinema.
