Actress Vidya Balan and the King Khan of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, have not worked together as a leading jodi in any movie. But the duo has shared screen space in films like Heyy Babbyy and in the song Deewangi Deewangi from Om Shanti Om. SRK, the romance king of Bollywood, is loved for his intense and natural acting, along with having mesmerising eyes. The actor’s iconic arm-stretch pose has now become his signature step while romancing onscreen. Recently, Vidya Balan talked about his famous pose and revealed that today’s generation wouldn’t have loved him just for this.

Vidya Balan got candid during an interview with Bollywood Hangama and said, “I am enjoying the masala films because it is not pretentious. A lot of these directors… they don't even use close-ups. I find that shocking. The only way to connect with your character is through a close-up. Give me close-ups! Let me look into the eye! That's how the nation fell in love with Shah Rukh Khan for god's sake! Imagine if he was only doing this (imitates arms-stretched wide pose), he won't be as loved!”

The Dirty Picture actress also expressed her thoughts on the ongoing shift in the industry and the importance of storytelling. She mentioned, “Maybe a lot of these filmmakers, probably they have studied abroad… or watched too much international content. They are not assisting directors. I may sound like too much of a senior when I say this but I don't think they know what our kind of storytelling is! They are not familiar with it so it is alienating. It is not engrossing me.”

On the professional front, Vidya Balan was last seen in the horror-comedy movie Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, starring Kartik Aaryan, Madhuri Dixit, and Triptii Dimri. The film was released last year and garnered a mixed response from the audience.
