The makers of Peddi have struck a delightful chord with audiences even before the film’s release. In a newly released interactive video, music maestro A.R. Rahman and director Buchi Babu Sana sit down for a heartwarming conversation about their upcoming song, “Chikiri.” The song, set to release on November 7, has already begun to buzz across social media, thanks to a sneak peek that features Ram Charan dancing with infectious energy, singing “Chikiri Chikiri” in a vibrant, rustic rhythm.
In the video, Rahman, ever curious about the roots of his compositions, smiles and asks, “Chikiri Chikiri? What does Chikiri mean?” Buchi Babu explains with a twinkle in his eye, “In their village, they call the girls with love. They call them Chikiri. In that situation, a song starts. Chikiri is a good word. I’ll give you a hook for that. Is it ok sir? Chikiri Chikiri, how is it?”

Rahman’s instant reaction captures the magic of their creative synergy, “Superb sir! Very good sir, do this.” And just like that, a word filled with local affection transforms into a catchy, universal tune.
Chikiri isn’t just a song, it’s a feeling. It celebrates the playful spirit of love and the beauty of colloquial charm. With Rahman’s melody weaving through Buchi Babu’s storytelling and Ram Charan’s dynamic performance lighting up the screen, Chikiri promises to be a musical moment that bridges heart and heritage. The teaser of Chikiri is out and the official song video will be unveiled on November 7, 2025.
