Ranveer Singh, who gained huge appreciation for his role in Padmaavat as Alauddin Khilji, went into a dark phase in their life for doing that role. Earlier, the actor stated that Khilji’s character was so dark and complicated that he was afraid he would fall into a deep pit from which he would never come out. He then mentioned that to prep for the part, he would shut himself up in the Goregaon house, where he was alone. After Singh’s claims, Murder 2 actor Prashant Narayanan was asked about Ranveer’s method of the acting process. He clearly dismissed Singh’s claims and said that he is telling lies about the acting process. Narayanan further criticised Ranveer Singh’s acting.
In an old interview resurfaced online recently, Siddharth Kannan asked Prashant Narayanan if Ranveer Singh indeed entered into a dark phase because of his method acting for the role of Alauddin Khilji in the 2018 movie Padmaavat. Narayanan quipped, “Woh Jhooth Bol Raha Hai… Kyunki Woh Aisa Mind Blowing Actor Nahin Hai Ya Woh Aisa Koi Mind Blowing Role Nahin Hai. Kahin Na Kahin Justify Toh Karna Padega Na Itne Saare Crore Rupaye Mil Rahe Hain.” (He is lying. He is not such a mind-blowing actor. Or it is not such a mind-blowing role where you have to do so much. This going into dark space and doing all this is nonsense. You will have to justify somewhere, the crores of rupees that you are getting.”
Padmaavat was one of the talked-about films of the year 2018 because of its storyline and performances. The movie starred Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Jim Sarbh, Aditi Rao Hydari, Anupriya Goenka and Swaroop Khan in key roles. It has been directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The movie had a box office collection of Rs 572 crore.
Talking about Prashant Narayanan, the actor is known for his work in Murder 2, Rangbaaz: Darr Ki Rajneeti, Mai, Nedunchalai, Dishkiyaoon and Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part II to name a few.
