Nupur Sanon, also known for being the younger sister of Bollywood star Kriti Sanon, is facing internet's wrath for her newly launched apparel brand, Nobo. Her brand has been criticised for selling 'basic' clothes at ridiculous costs, with many customers doubting the worth and practicality behind the pricing.

Nupur Sanon had her entertainment breakthrough in popular music videos like Filhall, where she costarred with Akshay Kumar, and in 2023, she made her cinema debut in the Telugu film Tiger Nageswara Rao.

Nupur Sanon is yet to make her Bollywood debut even while she starred alongside Kunal Kemmu, Satish Kaushik, Saurabh Shukla, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Chunky Panday, and Ashwini Kalsekar in Disney+ Hotstar's series, Pop Kaun in 2023.

Pop Kaun centers on a man's search for his biological father, which is sparked by his girlfriend's father's conviction that a person's father determines who they really are.  After learning that Sultan Qureshi is his biological father, the guy who at first thinks Brig Kishore Johnny Lever is his father decides to become a Muslim, changing his name from Sahil to Sadiq and dressing in traditional Muslim garb. Nevertheless, he eventually discovers that Kartar Singh (Satish Kaushik) is actually his father and Sultan is not. He subsequently takes on the name Sukhwinder Singh and becomes a Sikh. But this is not the end of the story! He eventually discovers that his biological father is Anthony Gonsalves (Chunky Panday), after which he wears a rosary and becomes a Christian.

Nupur Sanon first worked at Delhi Duty-Free as a management trainee before relocating to Mumbai to pursue her sister's career in entertainment.

Meanwhile, singer Stebin Ben, whose songs like Sahiba, Thoda Thoda Pyaar, and Rula Ke Gaya Ishq have gone viral, is rumoured to be Nupur's current partner.

Why Is Nupur Sanon's Clothing Brand Facing Scrutinity?

Nupur Sanon's Nobo, which debuted in 2024, promises sleek, contemporary shapes that combine Western and Indian design elements. However, the brand is being criticised by social media reviewers for its 'unoriginal' designs and high prices. The label's basic-looking clothing, may cost up to Rs 27,000, has drawn criticism, leading some to question whether or not celebrity-endorsed firms are alienating their target markets.

The problem arose when people began posting screenshots of the website on Reddit, a social media network. Many felt that the pricing were out of line with the quality of the products. For instance, the cheapest garment on the list costs about Rs 7,000, whilst a typical kurta set costs Rs 26,500. Numerous additional products, such as maxi dresses, rompers, jumpsuits, and asymmetrical dresses, are priced between Rs 9,000 and Rs 12,000 as well.
