Meanwhile, after her blue saree video exploded online, Girija Oak admitted she was amused by the sudden attention. Speaking to Hindustan Times, she said, “I was in rehearsals when my phone started buzzing non-stop. Friends began asking, ‘Do you know what’s happening on X?’” While fans praised her beauty and screen presence, some online pages reportedly “sexualised” her images. Girija handled it gracefully and said, “Some cheap handles picked up my pictures, but my Marathi fans defended me, saying, ‘You’ve only just discovered her!’ I’m glad if this helps more people discover my work.”

Despite the viral attention, Girija remains grounded and focused on her craft. She said, “The internet’s obsession is just a phase. The work I do is here to stay.” Having recently discussed feeling “safe and respected” while filming intimate scenes with Gulshan Devaiah in her upcoming series Therapy Sherapy, the actress continues to receive widespread appreciation for her honesty and professionalism.
