Popular Telugu folk singer Mangli, whose real name is Satyavathi Rathod, has been booked by the Cyberabad police along with three others for violating various laws during a birthday celebration at a resort in Chevella. The event was attended by guests mostly from the film industry. Mangli is a well-known Telugu folk singer who has worked with prominent music directors such as Anirudh Ravichander, Gopi Sundar, and Devi Sri Prasad. She gained fame after rendering the song ‘Saranga Dariya’ for the movie Love Story and has recently crooned songs for films like Thug Life and Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1.
According to reports, the police found a substantial amount of liquor at the venue, and some guests tested positive for drug consumption. Although no narcotic substances were found during the raid, the police have issued notices and are investigating to identify the supplier who provided the drugs. Mangli has been booked on charges of violating the Excise Act, Loudspeakers rule, and NDPS Act. The police have registered a case against the singer and her brother for organising the party without obtaining prior permission to serve liquor from the Excise Department.
