Rachel Gupta announced her resignation as Miss Grand International 2024 on Instagram on Wednesday. Her declaration, however, immediately caused controversy because the pageant organisers refuted her allegation, claiming that she had actually been fired.

Rachel Gupta revealed that she had to deal with a toxic workplace and numerous broken promises, as per lengthy Instagram post. Her decision to step down was challenging, but ultimately essential for her health, she explained.

Rachel Gupta captioned her post, "To all my supporters around the world: I’m truly sorry if this news has disappointed you. Please know this wasn’t an easy decision, but it was the right one for me. The truth will come out very soon. I love you all more than words can express. Thank you for standing by me."

Who Is Rachel Gupta?

Rachel Gupta emerged victorious as Miss Grand International in October of last year. This victory was particularly noteworthy because, since the pageant's inception in Thailand in 2013, no Indian beauty had been able to win. The 21 year old model became the first Indian woman to win this title in such a circumstance.

Rachel Gupta lives in Jalandhar, Punjab. She brought honors to India last year, but did you know that in 2022, she was crowned Miss Super Talent of the World? She is an industrialist and a successful model.

Why Did Rachel Gupta QUIT Miss Grand International?

Rachel Gupta gave two reasons for her resignation - A toxic workplace and unfulfilled promises. However, the Miss Grand International (MGI) Organisation presented an alternative story. She was officially removed from her position by MGI, the company said in a social media statement. They accused her of refusing to go on an official trip to Guatemala, not carrying out her duties, and working on unathorised outside projects.

Rachel Gupta posted photos from her special day as Miss Grand International 2024 back in October 2024. "WE DID IT! We won the first Golden Crown in Indian history. HAR MAIDAN FATEH 🇮🇳 Thank you so much to everyone who believed in me! I promise, I will not let you down. I vow to be a Queen whose reign you’ll remember forever! With all my love, Rachel Gupta (sic)."
