Who is Rajvir Jawanda? Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda, 35, is critical after a motorcycle accident near Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, where he collided with stray cattle. He suffered severe head and spine injuries, followed by a cardiac arrest and is currently on ventilator support at Fortis Hospital in Mohali. On Tuesday, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann updated about Jawanda's condition, stating that the singer's recovery from head injuries is slow. According to him, the doctors have said that yesterday, he was not even in a good enough condition to be taken for an MRI.
Who is Rajvir Jawanda?
Rajvir Jawanda, a Ludhiana-born Punjabi singer and actor, gained fame with hits like Kali Jawande Di, Mera Dil and Sardari. He is also known for his roles in several Punjabi films. An avid biker, Rajvir often shares videos of his mountain rides. Married and loved by his fans, Rajvir's passion for music and adventure shines through in his work.
According to a report in Apple Music, Rajvir Jawanda initially aspired to become a police officer after graduating from university but instead pursued a career in the arts as a singer. Born in Punjab in 1992, Rajvir launched his music career with his debut single Munda Like Me in 2014. He has since collaborated with notable artists, including Punjabi singer Maninder Buttar, with whom he released the song Vair. Rajvir's musical journey has seen him work on various hits, earning him a dedicated fan base in the Punjabi music industry.
According to a report in Hindustan Times, the singer’s motorcycle collided with stray cattle that suddenly came onto the road which led to a severe crash. The singer was soon taken to the Civil hospital where doctors had confirmed that he had suffered severe head and spine injuries, followed by a cardiac arrest. The singer for later shifted to Fortis Hospital, Mohali, for a better treatment.
In a statement, Fortis Hospital, Mohali, said, "Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda was referred to Fortis Hospital, Mohali, on 27th September and reported in the Emergency at 1:45 PM in an extremely critical condition. As per available information, he had sustained severe head and spine injuries in a road accident earlier in the morning and had also suffered a cardiac arrest at the Civil Hospital before being transferred to Fortis Hospital, Mohali."
"On arrival, he was immediately assessed by the Emergency and Neurosurgery teams. Detailed examinations and investigations were carried out, and he was placed on advanced life support. He is currently on ventilator support and remains in a critical state under close monitoring," the statement further read.
