Karisma Kapoor’s ex-husband and industrialist Sunjay Kapur took his last breath after suffering from a heart attack on June 12 in England. He suffered the attack while playing polo on Thursday. According to reports, a bee flew into his mouth while he was riding his horse, which led to his attack. The quick help could not be saved. His sudden demise has left the entertainment and business industries in shock. Let’s know about Sunjay Kapur.

Who Is Sunjay Kapur?

The 53-year-old was the chairman of auto component maker Sona Comstar. The company was founded by his late father, Surinder Kapur, in 1977. Surinder was a pioneer in India’s auto components industry. After Surinder Kapur passed away, Sunjay became the managing director of the company. Sona Comstar has nine factories in countries like India, China, Mexico, Serbia and the US. The company supplies parts for electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers. According to Forbes, Sunjay had a net worth of USD 1.2 billion. 

As reported by BollywoodShaadis, the business tycoon studied at The Doon School in Dehradun and in The Cathedral and John Connon School in Mumbai. He had a BBA in Corporate Strategy and HR from London. He also completed executive courses at MIT and Harvard Business School.

Sunjay had a great passion for polo and used to enjoy the sport.

Sunjay Kapur Marriages

The business tycoon was married three times. He was married to Mumbai-based fashion designer Nandita Mahtani in 1996. The duo then got separated in 2000. Sunjay then got married to Karisma Kapoor in 2003 at a high-scale Sikh wedding ceremony. The former couple was parents of a daughter, Samaira (born on 11 March 2005) and a son Kiaan (born on 12 March 2011). In 2014, they filed for mutual divorce, which was later finalised in 2016. They fought a bitter divorce battle in court. Karisma accused Sunjay and his mother of domestic abuse. She also filed a dowry harassment case, which led to a summons for Sunjay by the police. This was the biggest controversy of Sunjay Kapur’s life. Sunjay was then married to Aureus Investment Private Limited’s Vice Chairperson and Managing Director Priya Sachdev in 2017. In 2018, they welcomed a son named Azarius.
