Former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi has shared fresh details about a biopic based on his life. The businessman recently made headlines for speaking about his friendship with actress Sushmita Sen, and he has now revealed an interesting conversation involving Bollywood star Ranveer Singh. According to Lalit, the actor had expressed interest in playing him on screen when the project eventually takes shape.

Talking to ANI, Lalit Modi confirmed the biopic is moving forward. He shared that the script is still in the works. A group led by Sneha Rajani is handling the story development.
He said, “Yes, the biopic is in progress. The script is being written. I have already given hundreds of interviews, and the team is currently focused on shaping the story.”
Ranveer Singh Showed Interest In The Role Of Lalit Modi’s Biopic
When asked who he would like to play him in the movie, Lalit quickly said he would love for Ranveer Singh to do it. "Ranveer actually reached out to me," Lalit explained. "He wants to act as me and I would be happy if he can fit it in—Ranveer's a massive star now."
Interestingly, Lalit mentioned he didn't personally know Ranveer until the actor contacted him about two years ago. The actor then apparently met with him all the way in London for a discussion.
Lalit Modi Praises Ranveer’s Talent
The former IPL chief revealed that Ranveer had told him there was one role he particularly wanted to play, and that was Lalit Modi as the commissioner who transformed cricket administration.
Lalit said, “Ranveer told me that if there is one character he would like to play in his life, it is Lalit Modi as commissioner. He is a fantastic actor. What he has done in Dhurandhar is extraordinary.”

Recently, Lalit also spoke about his bond with Sushmita Sen, saying they remain good friends despite no longer being together. He also defended the actress against criticism and negative labels often directed at her.
