Nitesh Tiwari’s directorial Ramayana is one of the most anticipated mythological drama movies of recent times. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as goddess Sita and Yash as Ravana. Recently, Yash began his filming for the magnum opus. Yash is gearing up to bring Ravana to life in a larger-than-life action arc. Some pictures from the set have gone viral on social media, where Yash and Mad Max stunt director Guy Norris can be seen prepping for a massive action sequence. In the pictures, Yash can be seen rocking a long beard look, which he has carried for the role of Ravana. Well, his recent beard look is hinting towards the grand look of Ravana. 

The actor is currently working with the renowned Hollywood stunt director Guy Norris, who is currently in India to choreograph some high-octane scenes. Yash has collaborated with the team to bring an extraordinary visual on screens that is unique in Indian cinema. Yash will be shooting for Ramayana part 1 for 60 to 70 days. Apart from Ranbir, Sai Pallavi and Yash, the film also features Sunny Deol as lord Hanuman, Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, Kajal Aggarwal as Mandodari, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, Sheeba Chaddha as Manthara, Kunal Kapoor as Indra Dev,  Arun Govil as Dashrath and Indira Krishnan as Kausalaya. The magnum opus has been directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. Ramayana part 1 is scheduled to release on Diwali 2026 and the second part on Diwali 2027. 

While announcing the film Ramayana with its release time, director Nitesh Tiwari wrote on Instagram “With a heart full of gratitude and a dream to share our Ramayana, our culture and our history with the world, we seek your love and blessings. 🙏🏽 🙏🏽🙏🏽 @iamnamitmalhotra.” The film was announced in November 2024.
