Housefull 5 director Tarun Mansukhani recently shared his opinion on Deepika Padukone’s reported demand of working 8 hours a day since she embraced motherhood. The filmmaker said that the demand is justified and stated that it should be said in advance. He further mentioned that the artist should put that in the contract so that everyone is prepared beforehand. Mansukhani also mentioned that when the film goes on floor, there are a lot of factors that need to be taken care of, including actors’ schedules, location permissions and money.
In an interview with India Today, Tarun Mansukhani said, “I want to go home and spend time with my dog, and I understand the feeling. But you have to put it in the contract so that everyone is prepared.”
Talking about Deepika Padukone’s reported 8-hour shift, the filmmaker added, “No problem. Eight hours? I’ll need that many extra days, and then we’ll go ahead, but you need to tell me in advance. You can’t come to me at 11 am and tell me you need to leave at 5. There are other actors involved; the location for the day might not be available again, or the budget might not allow it.”
For the unversed, Deepika was reportedly removed from Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s directorial Spirit for her increasing demands. It includes 8 hours per day, a hefty salary and a share in the film’s profit. This did not go well with the director, which led to her exit. The filmmaker then replaced Deepika with Tripti Dimri opposite Prabhas.
Talking about Housefull 5, the film has been receiving positive reviews from the audience. It is about the murder of a billionaire on a luxurious cruise ship. All the passengers and guests on the cruise are under surveillance after police take over the case. The movie stars Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar, Chunky Panday, Fardeen Khan, Shreyas Talpade, Dino Morea, Johnny Lever, Chitrangda Singh, Soundarya Sharma, Nikitin Dheer and Akashdeep Sabir in pivotal roles. The film has been directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Warda Nadiadwala and Firuzi Khan.
