Nitesh Tiwari's upcoming epic, 'Ramayana', starring Yash, Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi, is set to be a grand spectacle hitting the screens on Diwali 2025. The film boasts a star-studded ensemble including Sunny Deol, Lara Dutta, Rakul Preet Singh, and possibly Bobby Deol and Vijay Sethupathi. The makers are gearing up to unveil the project on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami, on April 17, 2024.
According to a report by Pinkvilla, "Ramayana will be announced on April 17, 2024, on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami. There is no better date than Ram Navami to make an official announcement on the cast, crew, and release plans for Ramayana. It’s the most ambitious film in Indian Cinema, and the team is making all the efforts to bring it to the spectacle in the most authentic manner."

The magnum opus will see Ranbir Kapoor stepping into the shoes of Lord Ram, while Sai Pallavi will portray Sita. Yash will take on the role of the mighty Ravana, and Sunny Deol will embody the character of Lord Hanuman. Lara Dutta and Rakul Preet Singh are set to play Kaikeyi and Shurpanakha, respectively, with talks underway for Bobby Deol and Vijay Sethupathi to play Kumbhakarna and Vibhishana.
Shooting for the first part of the film has already commenced this month, with plans to wrap up by July, aiming for a Diwali 2025 release. Ranbir Kapoor is reportedly undergoing voice and diction training for the film, as the director Nitesh Tiwari aims to give his character a distinctive voice and style of speaking. 'Ramayana' promises to be a cinematic marvel, with the team dedicating over five years to pre-production to ensure that the script and visuals are meticulously planned and executed.
