O'Romeo Is Inspired By Real-Life Events?

O Romeo is based on a real-life event. Shahid Kapoor's character is allegedly based on the notorious Mumbai mobster Hussain Sheikh, also known as Hussain Ustara. He used a razor to inflict such a deep and precise wound on his opponent during a violent battle at a very young age that even doctors were shocked to see it and questioned how to treat it.

Hussain Ustara was well-known for both his bravery and, more significantly, his enduring feud with Dawood Ibrahim. In his writings, renowned author S. Hussain Zaidi has also alluded to the fear and way of life of Ustara. This gangster's life is the focus of Vishal Bhardwaj's film, which presents a lethal blend of love, betrayal, and retaliation.

O'Romeo is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on February 13, 2026.
