OMG 2 Box Office Collection Day 1: The movie 'OMG 2,' featuring Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam, has finally released in theatres. The film had been a topic of discussion for a long time, and now that it is out, critics are showering it with praise. Much like the attention surrounding 'Gadar 2,' the advance booking for 'OMG 2's opening day also made significant headlines. However, despite the advanced booking exceeding 50,000, the film did not receive an extraordinary opening at the box office.
The film was released on August 11. On the same day, 'Gadar 2,' a sequel to the 2001 blockbuster 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha,' also hit the theatres. With the presence of renowned actors like Sunny Deol and Akshay Kumar, both films were anticipated to garner a significant opening weekend collection owing to their star power and dedicated fan bases.
Nonetheless, 'OMG 2,' according to Sacnilk, raked in only Rs 9.50 crore nett in India with a total occupancy rate of 37.53 per cent in the Hindi version. This figure pales in comparison to the day 1 earnings of 'Gaddar 2', which reached approximately Rs 40 crores.
'OMG 2' received an "A" rating from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), which might have restricted its appeal to family audiences. Nevertheless, the film's unique concept and the loyal fan base from its previous instalment played a pivotal role in attracting viewers to the cinema halls.

Based on the feedback and reviews from the audience, the film's box office earnings could increase throughout the weekend. It is projected that the movie might collect around Rs 25 crore during its first weekend.
