Akshay Kumar is currently gearing up for the release of his highly-anticipated film 'OMG 2'. The film is all set to hit the theatres on August 11, 2023, alongside Sunny Deol-starrer 'Gadar 2'. In 'OMG 2', Akshay Kumar will be seen playing the role of Lord Shiva, but if the recent reports are to be believed Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC) wants director Amit Rai to change Akshay’s character from Lord Shiva to a Doot (messenger).

The modification appears to be one of the 20 alterations and deletions made to the movie by the Censor Board's review committee last week.

OMG 2 To Be Postponed?

The film has been garnering controversy since the release of its teaser and poster. According to a report in Koimoi, a source recently claimed, “The 'OMG 2' producers would actually have to change or delete several sequences where Akshay Kumar is shown assuming the Blue skin complexion of Lord Shiva. If makers decide to do the directed changes in the film, the Akshay Kumar-starrer would miss the August 11 release.

The source further added, “Remove the said sequences or change the colour digitally. Either way it is going to take extra time and funds.”

Earlier, this week, a report stated that the makers are planning to postpone the film’s theatrical release owing to the directed changes by CBFC. A source ETimes, “The makers are of the opinion of shifting the release date from August 11 as they want to fight against the changes suggested by the committee and also line up proper promotions of the film.”
