Netflix has finally granted the wishes of ‘One Piece’ anime fans by officially announcing the coming back of the show with a brand new second season filled with mystery, curiosity, adventure, and twists. Looking at the massive fandom of the show, ‘One Piece’ soared at the top of the streaming platform’s behemoth’s viewership rankings, and flooded social media platforms with scenes and touted voyage expectations for the next season. Fans were keenly waiting for the arrival of the group, with Netflix announcing its return in an unique manner. 

Netflix released a video featuring Eiichiro Oda, the visionary creator of ‘One Piece’ and conveyed his heartfelt appreciation to the show’s dedicated fan base across the globe. In the video, he said, “My collaboration with Netflix and Tomorrow Studios on ['One Piece'] has been a labor of love. Just two weeks after its debut, I received exhilarating news. Netflix has greenlit another season."

This renewal is already making rounds on the internet, however it is important to understand that fans will keenly have to wait for the arrival as the makers have just confirmed the season’s creation. Oda also shared that the crafting of the script of the show is currently under process. Unfortunately, the ongoing labor dispute in Hollywood has made the process complicated with several renowned artists currently on strike.

This dispute revolves around equitable contracts with major industry stakeholders and is going on for several months now. Until a mutually acceptable resolution is not served, members of these unions remain constrained from contributing to the streaming platform’s project. ‘One piece’ has sincerely maintained its top-ranking status on Netflix’s Top 10 list since its debut. The first season is available on Hulu and Crunchyroll, with the availability of the original anime series as well.

The series follows the story of a young and ambitious pirate who accidently gains powers to stretch his body like elastic after swallowing a piece of devil fruit. He then sets onto a voyage exploring the most wanted treasure in the world with his interesting team and experiences several ups and downs on the way.
