'Oppenheimer' was one of the most anticipated films of 2023 and it has finally been released in theatres worldwide. The film's Christopher Nolan has a huge fan following in India due to his previous mind-boggling blockbusters. 'Oppenheimer' also clashed with 'Barbie' at the box office. Despite the hype for both films, 'Oppenheimer' is winning in India and has been performing excellently at the box office.
'Oppenheimer' Box Office Collection:
According to the website Sacnilk, 'Oppenheimer' collected Rs 17.25 crore on day 3 as per early estimates. The movie collected Rs 17.25 crore on day 2 and its total box office collection now stands at Rs 49 crore approximately.
The movie is based on the 2005 biography 'American Prometheus' by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin and tells the story of J. Robert Oppenheimer, a theoretical physicist who played an important role in developing the first nuclear weapons as part of the Manhattan Project.

In an interview with Sucharita Tyagi, Cillian Murphy was asked about Robert Oppenheimer being influenced by Bhagavad Geeta and the actor revealed he also read the sacred book in his preparation.
“I did read the Bhagavad Gita in preparation, and I thought it was an absolutely beautiful text, very inspiring. I think it was a consolation to him, he kind of needed it and it provided him a lot of consolation, all his life,” he said.
In an interview with People Magazine, Robert Downey Jr said, “I have never witnessed a greater sacrifice by a lead actor in my career. He knew it was going to be a behemoth ask when Chris called him. But I think he also had the humility that is required to survive playing a role like this."
“He is an actor that I have been watching for quite some time and have been desperate to work with for ages. You’d have to be mad to say no. It was truly one of the best experiences that I’ve had.”
The movie has received an R rating. The movie stars Cillian Murphy in the titular role with Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh, Josh Hartnett, Casey Affleck, Rami Malek and Kenneth Branagh in pivotal roles.
